It just turned midnight. I'm still awake as my family sleeps. Jay and I watched The Brave One Wednesday night. It moved me to tears. We stayed up way too late and suffered the consequences by being a bit irritable for lack of sleep. I'm just glad its now Friday so that we can spend a little time together tonight without having to be somewhere tomorrow morning.
Here is the picture I created of it last May. It was so cute! It just sat there in the middle of our yard staring at me. I wanted to keep it forever. I was wishing more than anything that I had brought my camera out there with me. It quickly made its way over to a tree and hid beside an Iris for a long while before the parents were able to convince it to follow them into the woods.
Anyway, yesterday I was able to get a small piece of myself back by taking the time to enjoy nature. After my picture break I went in to make sure Tylor was comfortable. He has a project due today on lizards. He chose to do his research on a strange lizard called Axolotls. Once he felt better we spent a good portion of our afternoon and evening getting it finished. He's going to hand out little cards with a drawing of the lizard that says "I learned about Axolotls today" I think it will be funny :)

I Have So Much To Do!
My children went back to school today, they were out all last week for a mid-winter break. We started the week off by going bowling, it was their first time and they really enjoyed it :) It was good to not have to get up early and be able to stay up late and basically do whatever we wanted to do. Jay went to New York for work Thursday night so I was really missing him, but having Tylor and Samantha home with me eased the burden. Jay returned home yesterday, we ate lunch with him and then let him take a nap to catch up on his sleep. He said he couldn't sleep there because of all the noise outside like cars honking and sirens wailing. Jay and I painted our living room and I really love it! It is amazing what a nice color on the walls of my home can really do for my mind. I feel more relaxed and calm in there now. I still have so much to do!! Not only do I want to catch up on posting all the pictures on my blog that I've been taking, and finish making over my website, I'm painting our kitchen and it is a disaster area at the moment. It looks like my kitchen threw up - everything that was in the cabinets is now on the floor and on the kitchen table. I almost trip over paint cans, sheets protecting the floor and misplaced cabinet doors every time I go in there. I can't wait to get it finished! I know it will be beautiful when it is all finished. I chose an olive green to go on the walls, and a white tinted with yellow to go on the cabinets. I'm not too sure about the curtains yet. We bought some white linen curtains, but they might be too white. I'll decide after I'm finished painting. I might stain them with tea. I'll do a test on a sheet first. I haven't been creating any art lately, just taking pictures and trying to keep my cool about my home projects. Once I get all my painting done, (which wont be just the kitchen, I want to paint the laundry room, my hall bathroom, and my bathroom too) I know I'll settle down and start creating art again. I have been playing the guitar though, I practice almost every day. Playing the guitar is very satisfying to me at the moment. If only I could I'd share a video of me playing. My video camera stopped working but I am able to record with my digital camera. The only thing is - my camera makes this weird clicking sound on all the videos and it can get a little annoying.
My garden is awakening! I can't believe spring is almost here again. I've been very patient and content through this winter and tried to not think about fast forwarding time. Living in the moment is much more rewarding! Respecting each day that I've been given and searching for new opportunities to make the most of each day, as it is given, is a challenge though :)
